We are looking for 2 enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeons to join us full and part-time. Responsibilities involve consultations, vaccinations, medical and surgical work-ups and treatment of cases. The rota allows for a good work/life balance, which averages 40 hours per week for the full-time role and 20 for the part- time role. The hours worked are Monday to Friday 8am - 7pm and includes a day off. The Saturdays are worked 1:2, or 1:4, 8am – 1pm. We are closed every Sunday and Bank Holiday.
We are a host practice for Vets Now, which provides great continuity for our friendly and loyal clients but also frees you from out-of-hour duties.
Barton Lodge is situated within an easy walking distance of Hemel Hempstead town centre. We are close to a lovely park and the town offers a variety of facilities close at hand.
We have a high level of modern equipment including in-house laboratory, video endoscope, tonopen, ECG, digital X-Ray, an MyLab 25 Gold E-SAOTE ultrasound scanner and dental X-Ray. Separate cat and dog wards and all our rooms are air conditioned.

We have a low staff turn around with nearly half of the team working with us for 10 years or more.
A successful candidate would need to have good customer care, effective communication with clients and colleagues in order to deliver a high standard of patient care. Responsibilities involve consultations, vaccinations, medical and surgical work-ups and treatment of cases.
We offer 25 days holiday per year, plus an extra day (Birthday leave) for your birthday.

We require a minimum of 2-3 years post-graduate experience and will offer a competitive salary, which will depend on experience. The roles are for 1 x full-time and 1 x part-time.
CPD is encouraged and well supported with an excellent CPD budget and additional staff benefits. The development of specific interests is encouraged and supported including study to certificate level. The experienced vets at the practice would be mentoring any new graduates.
