Community | Ask The Vet Hills and Animal Testing16.05.2006Hello! I understand that Barton Lodge, as well as every other vet, recommends Hills. I am not one of those sign-tooting, t-shirt wearing animal rights fanatics at all, but it was brought to my attention that Hills has a rather dubious animal testing record. I don't know if you were already aware of this but am just passing the information on just in case! - Jules Hello Jules, Certainly we recommend Hills Diets, you will see that the Barton Lodge Vet Centre website has a link to the Hills website. Their site contains information regarding Hills nutrition research. It is stated very categorically that their research is carried out ethically and with high regard to animal welfare. Having spoken to staff at Hills they refute all the assertions about studies referred to on the BUAV site. It is clear that BUAV have some criticisms of not just Hills but most major Pet Food manufacturers. In our opinion ethical research is necessary and has brought about major advances in pet nutrition and we, like many other vets, support these advances and have the confidence to use Hills Nutrition products for our own pets. - The Barton Lodge Veterinary Team Back |
