hi when should i start weaning my kittens

- davina cox

Hello Davina

Thank you for your question. Young kittens will start to be interested in solid food from about 3 weeks of age. If you feed the mother cat near her kittens you often find they join in at meal times. Nursing female cats can be offered moist kitten food, pouches or tins and this is also the best type of kitten food for little kittens. Put a bowl down so that all the kittens can share food together. Always provide a bowl of fresh water as well. Kittens can be fully weaned onto solid kitten food by 6-7 weeks of age.
