Lump on Kittens Tummy

05.08.2008

Hi,

My cat had kittens 4 kittens 9 weeks ago, all have gone to their new homes apart from one (that we are keeping).

The kitten we have kept has a lump that seems to be filled with fluid on her tummy, about where her belly button would be.

I think it is most likely from an infection after the cord was cut. Or a small bite from when she was playing with her brothers.

I have been waiting to see if it pops or goes back down itself but nothing seems to be happening. Will this need draining or is it best it is left to go back down itself.

Thanks very much.

Alice

Hello Alice

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately it is not possible to diagnose your kitten's lump without an examination. We suggest you make an appointment with your own vet so that kitten can have a full check up.
